Staff

Our field and office staff is comprised of individuals who strive for excellence in every aspect of their profession. With over 150 years of collective experience, our educated and energetic staff ensures that Polaris Engineering and Surveying, Inc. consistently delivers a high level of service and top-quality products for its clients.

Daniel Laux, P.S. – Principal – President. Dan has over 30 years of experience in the surveying industry. Along with overseeing the every day management of the company, Dan manages the survey department.

Charles W. Szucs, P.E., P.S. – Principal – Vice President. Chuck has 24 years of experience in the civil engineering field. Chuck helps manage the engineering department and works as the project manager for many of our civil engineering projects.

Dustin R. Keeney, P.E., CPESC – Principal – Secretary. Dusty has over 14 years of experience in the civil engineering field. Dusty helps manage the engineering department and works as the project manager for many of our civil engineering projects.

Michael P. Spellacy, P.S. - Mike has over 20 years of experience in the surveying business. Mike is capable of performing all of the different tasks a surveyor is required to perform. Mike mainly works in the office preparing plats, legal descriptions, boundary surveys, etc. Mike also works in the field as a survey party chief as needed.

Kevin Hoffman, P.E. – Engineering Department. Kevin is a graduate engineer who has worked with Polaris as a designer and project manager for four years. Kevin’s responsibilities include preparing plans and specifications for residential and commercial site improvements.

John Kohr – Autocad Technician. John is currently attending Cleveland State University and is working to obtain a degree in civil engineering. He works part time at Polaris helping with Autocad drafting and design.

Dave Leinweber, P.S. – Party Chief. Dave has 15 years of experience in the field of surveying. Dave performs the duties of a party chief for one of our survey crews.

Mike Douglass – Instrument Man. Mike has 15 years of experience in the field of surveying. Mike performs the duties of an instrument man for one of our survey crews.
